Step 2 – the which?
We offer two certification levels:
Cyber Essentials: A combination of self-assessment and independent audit
Cyber Essentials Plus: The same protections, but with more rigorous, independent technical testing

An independent audit is carried out of the data in the forms
When passed a certificate is produced and also you are entered on a central government register
If you go for Plus certification there is extra rigorous, independent technical testing to prove that what was stated is reality. This may also bring up other remediation and security changes.
Once and remediations are complete you will be give the Plus certification
